An hour in the Old Trafford mixed zone while United confirm two new directors

You may have seen some of the Instagram Stories from the Old Trafford mixed zone on Saturday. A colleague said the prone Paul Hirst, of The Times, looked like he was participating in the stadium sleep-out as he reeled from nearly an hour on the concourse without anybody from either club walking through.

No United players walk through because the mixed zone is not on their way out. All they have to do is emerge from the dressing room, take two left turns and decide whether to reward autograph and selfie hunters or offer a polite wave from a distance.
