Ryan Giggs snub raises awkward questions for the Premier League; behind United's 'contract' for Klopp
A closer look at the Old Trafford contract which had Liverpool boss Klopp chuckling, and a Premier League Hall of Fame conundrum involving a United legend
The Premier League continues to overlook Ryan Giggs, owner of 13 winners’ medals, for induction into its Hall of Fame.
Domestic abuse charges against Giggs, 50, were dropped last year. He had been due to go on trial on July 31 charged with coercive or controlling behaviour against his former partner Kate Greville and assaulting her sister. Prosecutors told Manchester Cown Court they would not be pursuing the case.
Giggs was not among the list of nominations shortlisted for a fan vote on Monday. Between 1992-93 to 2012-13, Giggs scored in every Premier League season and was named the PFA Player of the Year in 2009.
They say time is a great healer, but evidently not enough time has passed for Giggs to be recognised. One of his close friends described his omission “a joke”.
